Philosophy
Ludens comes from the Latin for play — not frivolity, but the kind of serious experimentation that leads to discovery. The best strategists, engineers, and designers all share this quality: they approach problems with curiosity before certainty.
We founded Ludens because too much consulting optimises for the appearance of rigour rather than the reality of impact. Frameworks are borrowed. Recommendations are generic. The client's actual problem goes undiagnosed while everyone admires the deliverable.
We built something different: a consultancy where strategy, data, technology, and commercial thinking aren't separate disciplines handled by separate teams. They're integrated capabilities applied by the same people to the same problems.
The intersection
Ludens exists at a specific intersection — not as five boxes on a slide, but as a single integrated capability.
Strategy × Data
Strategic choices informed by evidence, not intuition. Data that connects to decisions, not dashboards.
Technology × Commercial
Technology investments evaluated with commercial rigour. Commercial models enabled by technical capability.
Experimentation × Discipline
Structured experimentation within clear frameworks. Playfulness with accountability.
What makes Ludens different isn't what we do. It's how we think.
- —We question the problem before proposing solutions
- —We build, not just recommend
- —We measure outcomes, not deliverables
- —We transfer capability, not dependency
- —We say no when the problem isn't ours to solve
